Canon Character's Full Name
Uchiha Sasuke
Question #1: How do you see the character and what do you think of it?
Well, first off, I like this character very much, and no, I'm not a fangirl. I'm a guy. So that strikes down the theory that I'm only playing him because of that. I obviously have other reasons for liking the character. It's because he's troubled and has quite lost the grip on what he's actually supposed to do with his life, as a person instead of a tool in a greater scheme, maybe its end.
In many ways, he's both mature and immature. Former because he's gone through a lot for his age and has an entirely different perspective on everything that means life and how to go through it. Latter because he isn't approaching it correctly and he thinks that, because he's been hurt, it gives him every right to do it to other people. In fact, he thinks he's doing them a favor by not letting them form a bond with him.
Ad other than that... well, he's essentially still a good person, he just doesn't show it much. And he will be anything else he needs to be, such as cruel to his friends, or a backstabber, if it means he will gain more power from that and it will take him closer to his goal. Or even if he only thinks it will.
{Spoilers, maybe. You've been warned.} Yeah, and... in the beginning, he thought being alone and all on his own was the way to go, but lately in the manga we're shown that he understood how wrong he was. Or at least that's how I interpreted the fact that he takes those three along after he kills Orochimaru and he actually relies on them to do things for him. {End spilers.}
Question #2: Why do you think you can play this character properly?
I've played him before and got no complaints. But seriously, we can't know if I play him properly unless we try, right? That's why the fragment of RP you asked for will be from one of the previous occasions that I mentioned.
Requirement: Copy-paste a fragment of a role-play post you made somewhere or make a new one. It doesn't matter which characters it features. We just want to look at your style.
Straining his muscles to the maximum, Sasuke continued to cling to the branch with his one intact hand, although his skin burned and felt like it would peel off any moment. It was getting more difficult by the moment, but his moves had to be calculated precisely if he were to get out of this situation and not collapse straight into the fire. The branch was fragile and it would break if he even flinched the wrong way.
Who would have thought that little pest was going to be this powerful? She hadn't looked like much, beyond all that rude and cuss-filled talk. Even despite that, he hadn't underestimated her... too much. Call it extreme caution, or even paranoia, but he didn't like taking risks with that. He needed to stay alive, for his goal to be reached. He couldn't die.
That included getting scorched. He couldn't let that happen.
And still, she had been able to cause this much damage. He wasn't worried yet, but she was stronger than anticipated. Much stronger. At least he wanted to fight her, now, for real.
Avid to get out of this sooner, he wondered if Naoko was going to attack again. She looked like the type who would make a small extra effort just to be one hundred percent certain her job was completed. She was purely professional, and now he had lost her from sight somewhere among the flames.
To think it had even been his own jutsu that caught him like this...
Not for long. Grinding his teeth together in anger and ambition, he squinted, although his eyes, rimmed by stingy tears, were hurting immensely from the heat, like everything else. For a small instant, his vision cleared enough for him to distinguish his exact angle. That was more than enough.
Spinning and pushing himself, just as the branch cracked upon his very first move, he let go of his previous support, entering a full tumble towards the trunk, which the fire was just reaching. Having calculated the exact safe spot between the rising flames, he crashed his foot into the wood, ignoring the new acute surge of pain as he propelled himself back, breaking the fall, or at least shifting it. Instead of collapsing right into he flames, he fell unceremoniously onto grass with loud boner cracks. He rolled on his shoulder immediately to break the impact, then leaped to his feet.
Concentration.
The Sharingan sprang back to life in his eyes, he could feel the familiar tinge and his view focused and cleared entirely. Now, to look for Naoko...
