This post is purely to elucidate the mystery of what the Karma counter below your avatars and personal text means. During my days as a forum role-player, I've seen many people who didn't know. If you do, good for you. For those who don't, here it goes.
Karma is an equivalent of charisma or so, it represents a measure oh how liked or unliked a certain user is around the forum.
Each user can give a Karma point by clicking [Exalt] and take one away by clicking [Smite], but not to himself or herself. You can only give karma to somebody else, and can only give one point every hour. Same goes for taking karma from someone.
Note that giving or taking karma does not affect your own count. Only other people's actions may modify yours.
Additionally, the admins can set a user's karma to whatever number they want, at any given time. So you'd better love us, unless you want to wake up in the pit of -900. I'm kidding. We respect you.
That's it, dears. It's as simple as that. We actually encourage you to use this feature, because having high karma will encourage people to RP more, while having low karma will, maybe, cause the ambition of getting some, by also RPing more.
Besides, it's always good to know if you're liked or not. And the karma givings and takings are entirely anonymous.
