By the time I finished filling out the application, I found out this site was already dead. I guess it couldn't hurt to submit this just for kicks, and hopefully someone will see it eventually.
Hm, I wonder if this would have been approved... Anyways, enjoy for your reading pleasure.
Character's Full Name: Zubera, Xojan.
*He often goes by many aliases, never by his true identity.
Is the character a ninja? Yes
Character's Appearance: Xojan has dark purple hair, a sharp purple goatee, menacing green eyes and a smile that spells disaster. He is built athletically and wears a brown and black layered cloak. Under the cloak he wears a black sleeveless shirt over a dark blue one with short sleeves, and dark grey pants. The black shirt has strong plate armor under it, and his large shoulder plates are unconcealed. He wears black combat boots and light but durable metal guards over his forearms, triceps, shins and thighs.
He has a deep, unsettling voice with a hint of rasp behind it. His black ninja headband is a little long in the back, flapping in the breeze like two ribbons. There is a tattoo of a praying mantis on the inside of his left forearm, and a summoning mark tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. Neither tattoo is concealed by the metal plates.
*Xojan is always disguising his true appearance with many identities. He never takes on his true appearance unless he is sleeping, since that is when he is unable to maintain his disguising jutsu.
Brief Character History: One year ago, Xojan had used his false charm to seduce the kage of a village. Over time he had slowly used her to learn a great deal of jutsu and other techniques. But eventually, that kage had heard from Xojan's squadmates that she was being used for his own ambitions, and she decided to stop seeing and teaching Xojan from then on.
But Xojan did not want to accept that. Three days later, he had kidnapped the kage's daughter, left the village and held her for ransom. But the night before doing so, he had assassinated his family, squadmates and team leader to make sure they would not spill any information about him to the authorities. He also did it to pay back his squad for telling the kage the truth about his relationship with her.
Xojan left a note demanding a huge sum of money for the kage's daughter's return. The ransom was paid, but he only returned a clone of the kage's daughter. The real daughter had been transported elsewhere via a maze of transportation scrolls with lots of built-in traps for anyone who were to use them. Only Xojan knew how to get past the traps safely.
After one hundred-seventy two ninja had been killed by those traps trying to get through Xojan's maze of scrolls, they had finally managed to return the kage's daughter.
It took months, plus the deaths of nearly fifty more ninja, but Xojan had eventually been captured. Oddly, the skin of most of their corpses had somehow been shriveled up and were ghostly pale. Same as many of those caught in the scroll traps. He had been convicted of murdering his sensei, his two squadmates, his family, stealing from a kage, kidnapping her daughter, murdering one hundred-seventy two ninja with his scroll traps plus the forty-six others that were sent to apprehend him. Xojan had been sentenced to confinement in a special prison specifically for high-ranked criminal ninja.
No one figured out how he managed to escape, but Xojan had left eight guard corpses behind. To the surprise of those who found the corpses, their skin had been drained of all color and their bodies were shriveled up like old raisins.
But by the time they found the corpses it, was already too late to make a public notice of Xojan's escape. He had blown up the prison and framed another former inmate for the incident who had also escaped with Xojan's help. After the prison had exploded, Xojan had killed the person who helped him escape and faked their death as a suicide. His efforts had managed to fool the investigation team, and it was never reported that he is still at large. As a result, to this day, no one knows that he is still out there.
After his escape, Xojan set three new goals for himself: Learn as many techniques as he can, settle the score with the kage he once had 'relations' with, and destroy her village.
But Xojan is not sure if he can do it alone. In order to attain his goals, he may have to start his own criminal organzation.
Character's Personality: Xojan is basically a sociopath. He is cold, callous, vindictive and treacherous. He feels no guilt or compassion whatsoever, is sadistic and very crafty. He is easily able to switch fake emotions on and off like a light bulb to fool others, including features such as watery eyes, fake tears, innocent puppy faces, and the like.
But worst of all would have to be his ambition. Whenever Xojan sets his eyes on something, he will do anything to achieve it. And he is not afraid to pay a hefty price, whether it be at his own expense or someone else's.
Character's Starting Age: 37
Character's Chakra Type: Earth
Character's Starting Abilities: Xojan specializes in ninjutsu, is very quick with his wits, and he always has a trick or two up his sleeve. He's about as smart as he is evil. You would have to count his manipulative quality as one of his greatest attributes, as he is an expert at seducing others and gaining their favor.
The tattoos on his arms are for activating his two summons. The one on his left arm is used to call forth his praying mantis, Shujinko. This is a very loyal, very powerful brown and green mantis creature that will do Xojan's bidding.
The tattoo on his right arm is to summon a very powerful weapon, his Arcane Battalion; a double-headed rotating battle axe. It has a bulky and somewhat instrumental apearance, but it is actually very destructive and unpredictable in combat.
Aside from the Arcane Battalion, Xojan's other weapons are throwing shurikens and two short swords. The swords are only one foot long, and are light enough to be thrown at a distance. With or without the wires attached to the swords' handles, Xojan can throw the swords and have them return like a boomerang. The wires are just to help guide them through the air.
Basic shinobi abilities.
As many Genin-level techniques as you like, but 70 percent must be from your character's specialization domain.
Double Suicide Decapitation Technique [Ninjutsu] — This technique utilizes the Earth Element. Xojan will travel through the ground to appear below his target, then will pull them into the ground. Once in the ground, the target is thus immobilized.
Manipulate Sword Technique [Ninjutsu] — After hurling his short sword at an enemy, Xojan can control its path and movement by using wires which run from the sword itself back to his arm. Because his opponent will think it is a normal sword they will be off guard when it comes around, lops their head off, then returns to Xojan's hand.
Shadow Sword Technique [Ninjutsu] — This technique utilizes Xojan's short sword. When throwing the sword, at the same time, Xojan will also throw an additional sword to hide in the shadow of the first. The hidden secondary short sword can then approach the target without their being aware.
Temporary Body Paralysis Technique [Ninjutsu] — This is used to temporarily bind an individual. With the person frozen in place, Xojan can take the opportunity to either attack or to retreat.
Hidden Mist Technique [Ninjutsu]— Causes the area surrounding Xojan's target to be covered in fog. The low visibility allows Xojan to silently and secretly assassinate his target.
Haze Clone Technique [Ninjutsu] — This is a normal clone technique that creates approximately a hundred clones of Xojan and any of his teammates.
Mantis Scythe Forearm Technique [Ninjutsu] — Using his contract with the mantis, Xojan is able to turn one or both of his arms into long sickle blades. These blades are very sharp, durable and powerful, and they allow him a longer reach to combat against his foes with. The blades also have individual hands at the sides for Xojan to use.
Mantis Style: Guillotine Scissors [Ninjutsu] — While utilizing the Mantis Scythe Forearm Technique, Xojan will slash downward with one blade arm and up with the other. This will capture the enemy in a scissor-like grip. Xojan can either clamp down and split the victim in half or squeeze them for slow torture.
Mantis Dual Extra Arms Sprouting Technique [Ninjutsu] — Using his contract with the mantis, Xojan can sprout two additional green insect arms from his sides. These are as strong and durable as his human arms, despite their lithe appearance. The arms have an additional elbow joint for more flexibility, and Xojan can wield extra weapons with these arms.
Mantis Leg Sprout Technique [Ninjutsu] — Using his contract with the mantis, Xojan can turn his legs into four nimble mantis legs. Although they are thinner than his original legs, these are actually more durable. And at the same time they allow him to leap greater distances and evade more quickly.
Eyes of the Mantis [Ninjutsu] — Using his contract with the mantis, Xojan can have a pair of large mantis eyes bulge from his sockets. These will enhance his vision greatly.
Mantis Style: Hypnosis [Ninjutsu] — Utilizing his Eyes of the Mantis Technique, Xojan can stare deeply into a person's eyes in an attempt to put them to sleep. He must maintain full eye contact with them for it to work, though, so it is not easy to pull of against enemies.
Mantis Style: Dust Cloud [Ninjutsu] — While utilizing his Mantis Wing Sprout Technique, Xojan can beat his wings repeatedly to send up a big cloud of dust around him. This can quickly provide good cover to hide from his opponents.
Truth Spell Technique [Ninjutsu] — Used mainly for interrogation, this will force a person to answer truthfully any question they are asked. While under this spell the person cannot lie, but they do not have to tell the whole truth. This means Xojan will have to interrogate wisely and think of all the right questions to ask.
Body Swap Technique [Ninjutsu] — Xojan will simultaneously exchange places with another ninja. Both Xojan and that ninja will still maintain their original body stances after they have been switched. This technique will work only on a ninja within Xojan's field of view.
Body Flicker Technique [Ninjutsu] — Xojan will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing him to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement he will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask his appearance or disappearance.
Release/Dispel [Ninjutsu] — This allows Xojan to avoid the effects of a Genjutsu illusion. After forming the needed handseals, the Genjutsu technique will not affect him. He can also use the technique on another individual who was unable to avoid the attack. After forming the needed hand seals, Xojan touches the one affected to end the effect of the spell.
Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique [Genjutsu] — This technique causes the target to see a horrifying vision. Xojan will use the serpent hand seal to cause a circle of leaves to spin and envelop the target and then fall away. Once cast the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion.
Mist Servant Technique [Genjutsu] — Creates false attackers to delay and confuse the enemy. Though these servants are not real, the real Xojan is able to remain hidden and throw weapons matching the movements of the servants. This makes it appear the false servants are capable of attacking. When the enemy attempts to attack the servant, they will merely disrupt the servants illusion body but not destroy it.
Waking Dream [Genjutsu] — Controls the events that happen in a person's dream. This does not control their actions or thoughts during the dream, but can influence them by controlling the dream itself. Waking Dream can also be used to learn more information about/from the person, or to manipulate them in some way. This technique only works on a person who is unconscious or asleep.
False Assassination — [Genjutsu] Does not deal any actual damage to the enemy, but it does give the illusion of pain. Xojan will vanish, and at the same time a fake clone of himself will appear already impaling the enemy with a kunai, making the enemy think they have been stabbed and mortally wounded. The illusion will not last because the pain will fade away and sooner or later the enemy will wonder why they are not dead yet. Meanwhile the enemy cannot see the real Xojan, which means he has an opportunity to attack or flee. If he attack, the illusion is cancelled out.
False Place Technique [Genjutsu] — This is a simple genjutsu that changes the appearance of a nearby object.
Ten Chuunin-level techniques, but seven must be from your character's specialization domain.
Underground Fish Projection [Ninjutsu] — Using the Haze Clone Technique, Xojan uses the clones to confuse his enemies and then hide within the earth. The real Xojan can attack his enemies from the shadows of the clones.
Mud Overturn [Ninjutsu] — This is a defensive Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. After Xojan strikes the ground with his hands, a large wall of earth will rise into place as defense. The defense is not perfect though, a hard or drilling impact can puncture the wall.
Mythical Fire Phoenix Technique [Ninjutsu] — This technique utilizes the Fire Element. Xojan does the necessary hand seals and then emits a series of small fire balls. He can also hurl projectiles which are covered in these same flames. To the opponent the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, but they do not see the hidden threat within the flames.
Manipulate Advancing Blades [Ninjutsu] — This technique allows Xojan to hover multiple shurikens in the air while he approaches a target. The technique allows him to unleash a torrent of shuriken much more quickly than if each was thrown individually.
Tree Sap Projectile [Ninjutsu] — After gathering sap in his mouth, Xojan can spit it at his opponent. The sap will harden and make it hard for the enemy to move, and can also hinder the movement of some materials, such as water, paper and flower petals.
Mantis Exoskeleton Hardening [Ninjutsu] — Using his contract with the mantis, Xojan is able to instantly grow an exoskeleton to harden the outside of his body. This provides very reliable protection.
Mantis Wing Sprout Technique [Ninjutsu] — Using his contract with the mantis, Xojan can sprout a pair of mantis wings from his back. These grant increased movement, flight and the ability to hover, but he cannot soar too high with these wings.
Alliance-Shattering Fog Confusion [Genjutsu] — Xojan will cause a thick patch of fog to cover the area, then hide elsewhere. The fog will clear when he makes a certain handsign. At the same time the fog begins to clear away, just before the enemies can see each other, they will be under the illusion that one another is Xojan or another of their enemies. This can be used to confuse one or more enemies into attacking each other.
Sly Mind Affect Technique [Genjutsu] — A Genjutsu technique which causes the target to travel around in circles. If the ninja is unable to detect the illusion very quickly, they can become exhausted mentally and physically when they are unable to reach their desired target by traveling along the same path over and over.
Mind's Eye [Genjutsu] — This technique will give Xojan a bird's eye view of an entire area. Any people, animals and their chakra within range will be instantly pointed out to Xojan. He will also be able to see through the eyes and feel through their senses.
Five Jounin-level techniques. Three of them must be from your character's specialization domain.
Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu [Ninjutsu] — Instead of creating several shadow clones, several hundred are created. Like normal shadow clones, the user's chakra is split evenly among them when created.
The clones themselves can utilize any jutsu the original Xojan knows. When the clones finally disperse, any new knowledge they have gained is passed back to the original Xojan and to any additional clones. This makes Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu an excellent training method since Xojan has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the clones for an extended period of time. This allows Xojan to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added. With the great number of clones, Xojan can effectively learn in a few weeks with a hundred clones what would take one ninja numerous years.
Fire Clone Jutsu [Ninjutsu] — These are basically shadow clones, only with a few differences. They do not utilize any techniques that the original Xojan knows, but they can still attack and throw weapons. The second difference is when their bodies disperse, it is in a puff of flame instead of smoke. They go down in a blaze of glory, scalding the opponent upon their disappearance. When they throw weapons, those will also disappear and burn the enemy on impact like the clones do.
Dance of the Crescent Moon [Ninjutsu] — As Xojan charges at his opponent, he creates mutiple shadow copies to confuse his opponent. Using the confusion, the real Xojan will attack from the opponent's blindside.
Weapon Summoning: Arcane Battalion [Ninjutsu] — Using the tattoo on Xojan's right arm, Xojan can instantly summon his gigantic rotating battle axe. This summoning method will make the weapon seem to appear out of nowhere, and he can withdraw it back just as quickly. Resembling an ornamental banjo, the Arcane Battalion is actually much heavier and more deadly than it appears. Each blade of the double-sided axe head is an arc that comes around in nearly a full half circle, but the points are two feet away from meeting each other. The blade can spin on its axis or slide down the handle to a different position, which can fool the opponents into thinking Xojan had left himself open after a full swing. It is actually a very difficult weapon to wield, and just practicing it can get you sliced in half if you are not strong or skilled enough. Fortunately for Xojan, he is an expert with this unpredictable weapon.
Mantis Summoning: Shujinko [Ninjutsu] — Using the blood contract Xojan has signed with the mantis, he can summon a mantis fiend to do his bidding. To do this, Xojan must wipe his blood down a tattoo of a praying mantis on his left arm and slam the ground with his palm. The mantis is very quick, durable, powerful, can fly, and can even slash through stone with its sickle blades. It is also capable of utilizing all of the same mantis style abilities as Xojan.
Three jutsu of choice that your character has invented, but all three must be in your character's specialization domain.
Theft of Souls Technique [Ninjutsu] — This technique allows Xojan to copy an enemy that he has already defeated. This involves draining the essence from the victim, leaving their body shriveled up and a deathly-white color. When taking on another's appearance, Xojan's physical attributes do not change, such as strength and speed. He will also obtain the knowledge of the victim. Knowing what the victim's personality is like, Xojan will have to act the part for this technique to be convincing enough to fool the victim's teammates.
*This technique has given Xojan many identities to assume, and lots of knowledge from each one. The best part of this technique is that he can swap between appearances instantly and at any time.
Soul Reaper Jutsu [Ninjutsu] — Saps the life force from an enemy and makes them wither away with fatigue. That life force is used to heal any of Xojan's injuries or wounds. If Xojan is flawless, this technique will instead strengthen him. The longer Xojan maintains this technique with his handsign, the longer it persists.
Bloodshadow Replacement Technique [Ninjutsu] — When in danger, Xojan can instantly generate a bloodshadow clone of himself to take his place. The clone is dark like a shadow with red blood vessels pulsating throughout its body. The clone cannot move, and will instantly fade away upon damage, but that damage will be inflicted on the one who had attacked the clone. Even if Xojan himself were to accidentally damage one of these clones, he would be harming himself.
Exceptional sealing techniques.
Basic medical techniques.
Kekkei Genkai: Houshigan (Silhouette eye). When this kekkei genkai is activated, Xojan's eyes will turn a deep blue and his iris will disappear. Light blue triangles will point inward to the spot where the iris would be. The bases of the triangles cannot be seen because they are beyond the edges of his eye, and they move in a way that implies there is an unseen iris in the spot where they are pointing.
To use the Houshigan, Xojan must focus deeply into the target's eyes and force the triangles in his own eyes to converge into the spot where the pupil would be and snap shut. If he did this successfully, it will cancel out the target's kekkei genkai. Their kekkei genkai will become available again at a later time, though.
The Houshigan has side effects, however. It is difficult to force the eye to snap shut because the motion puts a lot of strain on Xojan's eyes. Once the eye snaps shut, the Houshigan will automatically deactivate and Xojan's vision will return to normal. If he missed the person's eyes, his vision will blur for a few seconds. But if he succeeded, the target's vision will be blurred instead.
If the Houshigan is used on a target without a kekkei genkai, the side effects are even worse. Xojan will be temporarily blinded instead of having just blurred vision, and the recovery rate is four times as long. It will cause a sharp pain in his eyes as though they are being stabbed with a needle, and it will take a long time before he can reactivate the Houshigan again.
Role-Play Example: All of a sudden, Kiki lost her desire to get back at Casey. All she ever did was call her out in public. Was revenge really worth seeing her fall into a well? What if she never finds her way out of there?
A sweatdrop formed at the back of Kiki's head. What if she gets hurt from the fall? she thought. What if Casey starves down there? What if no one is able to help her because they can't hear her screaming. What if she is so badly hurt that she can't scream? What if... what if she dies on impa-
The mage's abrupt, harsh words snapped Kiki into attention. She cowered before the wicked magician. Kiki did not know why Zoku snapped at her like that so suddenly, but he had a streak like he definitely meant business. The mage was angry, making Kiki all the more scared.
Sure, Kiki thought, Casey was mean and all, but does she really deserve to fall into a pit trap? She silently pondered a moment before coming to her senses.
"No!" she shouted, one of the few opportunities she had taken to speak assertively. "That is just wrong! Casey didn't do anything to deserve this. She could get hurt and you know it!"
It was almost as if the mage did not realize that her friend could get hurt. Yet he knows so much, and is so smart...
He has to be aware, she thought. It could only mean that... that... he doesn't care if Casey gets hurt!
Zoku is evil!
Only now did a form of proof not to trust Zoku come to Kiki. She had always disliked the wizard and had felt bad vibes from the time they met, but now she finally saw him for what he was. She had all the more reason to believe the truth, and not to trust him.
Kiki was surprised, but she had no reason to be. Her intuition had never failed her.
But then again, she thought, why was he so determined to get back at Casey? Does he hate Casey too? But why? What could she have done to-
The book!
A sudden chill ran down Kiki's spine, and her eyes bulged from their sockets. As usual, she could not contain her reaction. He knows, she mused, horrified. He must have known all along that Casey stole the book! No wonder he hates her!
And he's using me to gain her trust!
Kiki could not take it anymore. "NO!" she shouted. "There's no way I'm going to let you use me anymore, Zoku! You're outright evil! You hurt people! First her dog, then her parents, then Casey herself! You big bully!"
Without hesitation or second thought, Kiki shoved at the wizard with all her might. She would regret it later, but that did not matter right now. Right now, Kiki was angry. That is what mattered.
No. It was Casey that mattered.

Village Sorting Quiz:
1. If your character were sent on a mission with the old Team 7 (Kakashi, Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura), who would he/she be most likely to get along best with? How about least? In both cases, please motivate.
Xojan would get along most with Sasuke because he is cynical and places himself above his peers. Also because of his sharingan, desire for power, and that he is so full of hatred for someone so young. Xojan would also see a little bit of himself in Sasuke.
Xojan would get along least with Naruto because of his 'never give up' and 'believe it' nonsense. He naturally hates virtuous people, and Naruto has that label written all over him.
2. Which of the three Sannin would your character choose to train with, if given the chance? Why?
Orochimaru. To use him for power and to learn more techniques. The gruesome twosome would probably get along well, seeing how much they have in common. Xojan would eventually hope that maybe one day, Orochimaru could work for him. He does not actually trust Orochimaru, but it's just a thought.
3. Assume your character was a Konoha nin (therefore supposedly loyal to his/her village). He/she knows all about Sasuke's departure AND the reasons behind it. What would he/she think about that? Does the purpose excuse the means?
Xojan wouldn't really give a shit.
4. Would your character die for his/her village? If yes, is it because she cares about the village or is it just because it's a shinobi's duty? If not, is it because he/she disagrees with the village's cause or is it because your character would only be looking out for his/her own good?
Xojan cares about himself and himself only. He would die for no one. In fact he would probably laugh at anybody foolish enough to die for a cause, if not just find it disgusting.
5. If given the choice, would your character rather save a companion in need or finish the mission they had?
Xojan hates failure, so he would finish the mission. Most people are expendable enough to be replaced anyway.
6. Would your character kill somebody just to prove his/her worth to someone else?
Yes, I would gladly- ...Um, I mean Xojan. XOJAN would gladly kill someone. And he would probably to do it slowly, too.
Generally Xojan wouldn't like the idea of having to prove himself to anyone, since that would insult his ego, but murder is just too much fun to pass up anyway.
7. What kind of people does your character hate the most?
Weak people. Overly moral, emotional or neurotic people, or simply those who are too polite. Xojan truly hates anyone who were to place themselves above him.
8. How much self-esteem does your character have?
Too much. He is egocentric.
9. Does your character talk to the opponent in battle? Why?
Rarely. Only if he thinks he can manipulate or intimidate them, or if there is some other strategical reason.
Hm, I wonder if this would have been approved... Anyways, enjoy for your reading pleasure.
