This section is for those of you who have decided to try and create a new kekkei genkai for their character. Don't worry, Narutards like us are here to provide a few guidelines, so we can be sure you obtain a credible and acceptable one.
The first thing you should bear in mind is that a kekkei genkai is transmitted by blood within a certain clan or family. They affect the carrier's OWN body, not those of others. This is a must for it to be accepted.
Here are a few things that are not considered acceptable:
1. A kekkei genkai that automatically kills or permanently disables opponents. Also, a kekkei genkai that heals your character enormous amounts of damage in only a few seconds. Why? God-moding, that's why.
2. A kekkei genkai rendered extinct with the exception of a few specified canon characters. Examples: Sharingan, Haku's Ice Mirrors technique, Kimimaro's Shikotsumyaku (bone manipulation abilities).
3. A better version of an existent kekkei genkai. Therefore, we will have no such things as a Byakugan without a blind spot, or a combination of Sharingan and Byakugan. Please be original when you create your technique.
As you can see, we're not being unreasonable. We're just trying to keep the place balanced and fun for everyone. Look at the Naruto canon characters, for example. They were just weak kids in the beginning, and so should your OC.
Now, if you're done reading this and still have an idea for a new kekkei genkai, then reply to this thread and describe it with whatever words you want. Tell us what it does, how it is activated and mention any other quirks we should know about it.
An admin will soon let you know if it has been approved.

Name: Magma Release
Description: The Kekkei Genkai of the Hitamatori clan is a combination of the clans two strongest elements which would be fire in earth. Most clan members are proficient in both of these elements though they tend to be strongest in fire. At it's base this ability allows members that have the ability in them to manipulate fire and earth Chakra with such proficiency as to create magma Jutsu. This is similer in nature to how the first Hokage was able to use earth and water to make wood and how a clan rumored to be in the Water country could make ice with water and wind. Though particular Jutsu still need to be developed by the particular person. Such as how the Hyuuga have developed their own martial arts to accommodate their Kekkei Genkai.
However while not all members of the Hitamatori clan are born with the Kekkei Genkai those that do have another inborn ability besides the one to make Magma Jutsu in general. Though it is not taught until after the person has become a Chuunin and proved themselves to the clan. Then and only then will the clan leader train the clan member how to fully harness their ability. This is because it is very dangerous to both the user and those around them.
By harnessing a vast amount of Chakra in to the legs the user can stomp down in to the earth causing cracks to form around the user and spread in all directions. As the cracks widen and deepen magma made from a combination of the ground and the users chakra begins to seep out rapidly and the user can control the flow of said magma somewhat depending on their experience. Furthermore this ability causes vast amounts of damage to the users leg from the heat that spreads from the point of impact in the ground. Furthermore it uses a lot of Chakra and the more control used to control the flow of magma the more chakra it uses.
Pros:
-Allows the user to create powerful magma Jutsu.
-Special Magma release with limited control to use as a finisher
-Fast moving
Cons:
- Requires a lot of Chakra
- Dangerous to both the user and those close to him/her
- only a limited amount of control over the flow of Magma dependent on skill level
History: The Legend of how the Hitamatori gained their Kekkei Genkai is as follows. Long ago it is said that the founder of the Hitamatori clan was part of a group of ninja sent to deal with a demon that had been plaguing the land. In the wake of this demon there was nothing but ash as he lay waste to the land. It was said that this brave group of warriors challenged the demon whose name is now lost to all but the oldest records. One by one the Demon slaughtered each member of the team until only the young Hitamatori was left of his team. It was clever Hitamatori that figured out how to lure the powerful but stupid demon. It is said he called out to the demon challenging him declairing that he was no match for a Hitamatori and if he was able to beat the demon then he would have to give Hitamatori his power. Where if he managed to catch Hitamatori then he would lead him to his village where the demon could feast on all of their flesh.
With this taunt directed at the demon Hitamatori fled leading the demon away from the settlements that had been in his path. The demon rampaging behind him rushing to end the life of the pathetic human that dared to challenge him.
Hours and hours the demon chased after the brave warrior Hitamatori until he seemed out of breath and trapped on a cliff. Panic seemed to fill Hitamatori's face as the demon closed in with a sickening smile and hissing coming from the marks he left in the stone.
"I have you now mortal." He bellowed as he stepped closer and closer until a cracking sound was heard. Hitamatori had set a trap and the cliff side with both of them crumbled sending them both down in to the lake below them. When Hitamatori plunged in to the water it felt like he had been plunged in to ice and darkness. Frantically he tried to make himself surface as he felt the water get warmer and warmer as the demon hit the water heating it up fast. The howls from the Demon echoed for miles it is said and it was only luck that allowed the young Hitamatori to get out of the water before it began to boil. It seemed like hours that he stood on the bank watching the demon scream in pain in the cold water until the demon finally managed to make it to shore weakened and no longer menacing. This was his chance to end it his one and only chance.
"I won demon!" The young Hitamatori would say as he looked at his fallen foe. "Your powers belong to me and those that follow after me. It is this or I send you to the abyss." He would say preparing to send him back in to the water to finish him off. The demon roared and threatened to destroy him for the puny mortal he was but the brave Hitamatori did not waver and finally the demon admitted defeat and surrendered the power of the earth's heart to the Hitamatori for all time. This is said to be the beginning of the noble Hitamatori Clan and the Kekkei Genkai of the Magma Release.
Physical changes: This Kekkei Genkai has no obvious physical changes except for when it is in use. When in use lines seem to form over the skin of the user glowing a burning redish orange as if little rivers of magma were running through the users veins. This is just the form that the Chakra takes while making Magma however and has no real physical form and thus leaves no mark to show it was ever there once the user is done tapping in to his Release.

Might as well start by asking here first before I try to make the character. Her kekkei genkai is too big a part of her to use her without it.
Bloodline Limit: Honu no Shin Clan Name: Okibi Description: Users of this kekkei genkai have several great strengths, but along with those strengths come even grater weaknesses and restriction than most ordinary ninja posses. For one thing, those who possess this particular bloodline trait are only able of using one type of elemental chakra throughout their entire lives, although they are possibly one of the most advanced users of the fire type when trained properly. For when an Okibi clan member awakens their sleeping ability, they become able to naturally manipulate their chakra to that of the fire nature, no matter how young or inexperienced as a ninja they may be. However, after this awakening, it becomes increasingly hard to use chakra that is not elemental, and many have extreme difficulty in controlling the ability for several years. In a sense, it can never fully be tamed; for that is the nature of fire itself.
Those who are able to use the Okibi's kekkei genkai are able to create fires using their innate ability to use fire-type elemental chakra shaping, simply by channeling that chakra a certain way. Breathing attacks are quite common, although they are also able to create fire while touching an object. They are also capable of controlling the heat of their flames, although this skill takes a great deal of practice to master. Usually, when a member of the clan first manifests their kekkei genkai's ability, they have to be put under constant supervision in case they lose control of their chakra and start a potentially fatal blaze. Even for veteran users of this ability, losing control is always a big risk, in the form of a clan-specific condition called "Fire Madness". Basically, this is a state a user of this kekkei genkai may put themself in when they try to force the use of more chakra than they are able to, or when they are extremely injured. Sometimes the disease is spontaneous, appearing out of nowhere with no apparent cause to claim the user with no warning at all. Whatever the cause, it is more often than not one hundred percent fatal to the user, who is consumed by their own flames, and dangerous to those nearby as well who might get caught in the blaze. To prevent this, users of the kekkei genkai usually wear some sort of restraint on their persons, sealing the majority of their power so that they do not endanger others. This can take many forms; necklaces, bracelts, and rings were once quite common, although modern users of the clan seem to have a fondness for gloves.
Physically, those who possess this kekkei genkai have several characteristics that make them easy to tell apart form ordinary shinobi. First of all, their eyes have a ring of red, orange, yellow, or some shade in between around the outer rim of their irises, no matter what color the rest of their eyes may be. Their body temperatures are also naturally higher than ordinary human being's and they have adapted over time to be able to withstand the heat without any side effects such as fevers or death by dehydration. They are also nearly entirely resistant to their own fire in most cases and have some amount of control even over ones they didn't create themselves by combining the existing flames with their own chakra. Water is their biggest weakness, and most if not all users of the Okibi's kekkei genkai have some level of hydrophobia. History: According to legend, the Okibi were blessed by kami with the power to manipulate flames at will, an ability that bestowed upon them great strength as well as great responsibility. They became protectors as well as destroyers, as was their destiny, long before the birth of the hidden villages.
At least, that is the story that they tell the others.
The real story is much more shameful, a story that begins back in the days before there were such things as shinobi. In that time there lived a thief by the name of Kouen, named for his flowing red hair and crimson eyes. A genius of a young man, Kouen was known far and wide as the man who could steal anything, be it tangible or intangible. He even boasted that he could steal from the spirits themselves without coming to harm, something no other man would dare to do. From lords to poor peasents, he stole from them all. But it was not to satisfy a greed for material things that Kouen stole; it was for fame. Kouen was a prideful man, and he felt incomplete unless he could hear the whispered rumors of his escapades wherever he went. He was called Kaito no Kouen by many, for no one had ever been able to catch him.
Over the years, Kouen had found a new way to attract attention to himself; he would use firecrackers in his robberies, startling his victims with the flames and using fire as a method of covering his escape. He became enthralled with the flames, and soon devoted much time to the study of pyrotechnics. At that time, he earned another name: Okibi no Kouen. Soon, his geatest desire was accomplished. There was not a town in the whole continent that did not know the name of the splendid, uncatchable thief who commanded the very flames themselves.
However...there was soon a turning point in the young man's life. Traveling through a city one night, he happened to stop at an inn, under the disguise of a simple traveler. It was there that a cloaked man caught his attention, bosting about a great treasure he had seen in his travels. At a shirne in the neighboring land, there was a mirror said to be posessed by a powerful spirit. Legend had it that the one who could touch the mirror would have any wish of theirs granted. This story piqued Kouen's intrest and he struck up a conversation with the man, asking further about the location of the mirror.
"Oh, the shrine is close enough. But it is extremely hard to get into. The monks will only allow a chosen few pilgrims into the shrine on midsummer's day, when the sun is at its highest point. They are allowed a brief glimpse of the enchanted mirror, but are never allowed to lay their hands on it, for the touch of humans would surely defile the mirror of the gods." The man told Kouen with a shake of his head when the thief in disguise asked him if it were possible that he could see the mirror for himself midsummer's day had been weeks before, and the shrine would not be open again for another year.
"Thank you, friend. Perhaps I myself will be able to glimpse the mirror a year from now." Kouen replied, bowing politely while plots for infiltrating the shrine began to take form in his head. It would surely be easy enough for him to relieve those monks of their blessed mirror; after all, was he not the greatest thief of all time? I could wish for anything, the thief thought as he set out, sure now that he would be able to accomplish his selfish goal. I already have fame, so why should I waste my wish on that? Instead, I will wish for true power over flames. Then I will truly become Okibi no Kouen, master thief, master of fire!
He never noticed the triumphant smirk beneath the other man's cloak as he left the inn in a hurry, not bothering to even stay the night.
For two nights and two days the thief traveled, but true to the cloaked man's word, he found the small shrine nearby. Getting in was a far simpler matter than he had anticipated, as for some reason the monks seemed to be elsewhere at the moment. In fact, the shrine was completely deserted! Child's play, the thief thought as he casually strolled deeper into the shrine, searching for any sign of the famed mirror. Something was nagging him at the back of his mind, some instinct telling him that something was terribly wrong. Finally, though, he found the mirror.
Encrusted around the edge with rubies and nearly as tall as Kouen himself was and the mirror's surface was the clearest and most beautiful that the young thief had ever seen. Suddenly, he did not care about taking the mirror at all, for the impatience to have his wish granted was stronger than he could hope to fight.
Stepping forward, the thief pressed both of his palms against the mirror's surface, gazing intently at his reflection. Sure of what he wanted, Kouen took a deep breath and called out in a loud voice, his crimson gaze never leaving his reflection's eyes. "Spirit of the mirror! I have come all this way to take you, and I command you now. Bestow upon me the power over flames, or be taken away from your home forever!"
The sounds of nature going on about the shrine suddenly ceased, and Kouen fought back a scream as fire poured out of the mirror's surface, coursing up his arms to flow into his eyes and chest, though the flames did not singe his skin. Everything burned, and when the thief opened his eyes again, they met a pair of identical eyes. Only, they were no longer the way they had been before; the irises had darkened to where they were nearly black, while a ring of bright red-orange burned around the outside of those dark irises.
His eyes had changed, but the face in the mirror most certainly did not belong to him. Instead, the eyes burned brightly in the darkness cast by a low hood, obscuring the features of the wearer. The transformed Kouen found himself face to face with the cloaked man from before!
"Why, why are you here?" The young man managed to ask, stuggling against the pain that lingered from the flames. "Just who the hell are you?!"
I am who I am. The figure in the mirror spoke into his mind, taking his hood down to reveal a fearsome visage. Bone white horns curled upward from his head, while various designs in the darkest red stood out in contrast against his deathly pale skin. He was fanged, and while his eyes were now the same as Kouen's, they glittered with a horrific malice. Those I know call me the fire demon, Kaijin. Centuries ago, a monk sealed my powers in this mirror, and I am only allowed to venture forth as a frail shadow of my former self to lure those with greedy hearts here to feed upon. The promise of their deepest desire, the sweet lure of power leads them all to me. When I have consumed the souls of one thousand men, I shall finally be strong enough to break free.
"But...if you are a demon, then why-" Kouen replied, still stunned by the demon's explanation. If the demon was going to eat his soul, why was he still alive?
Because it is too difficult for me to lure a thousand men to my dwelling. Not many have such weak hearts as you, oh mighty thief Kouen. So, I offer you this in exchange; I will grant you the use of my power, but you will pay a heavy price in return.
"Price? What price? What are you talking about, demon?!" Kouen demanded, trying to pry his hands from the mirror without avail. they seemed to be stuck, held there by some force he could not see. "What the hell have you done?!"
The demon chuckled, a mithless sound that chilled Kouen to the bone. You and any that come to bear your blood in future generations will be granted the power over flames. Oh yes, you will be strong, much stronger than a petty thief. You will be warriors of flame, beautiful masters of the fire element, but know that your power is a double-edged sword. Should your kind fall victim to their own power...their souls will be mine for eternity. And when every last descendent of yours has become my food, I will be released! Not even the Nine will be able to oppose me! With a horrible cackle, the demon released the mirror's hold on Kouen and disappeared.
Kouen took the name Okibi Kouen soon after, and never again stole from anyone. In time he married and several children were born to him and his wife. Many generations later, the Okibi have evolved from a family of theives to a tribe of shinobi with power, but also with a heavy burden. For with each death of a clan member by Fire Madness, Kaijin gains another soul. And the world has enough demon problems without a fire god turned fire demon to worry about.
Stengths: + Able to manipulate their chakra to form fire weapons, breath fire, and even control fires outside of thier creation. + Do not burn easily. + Resistant to extreme heat.
Weaknesses: - Exteme Hydrophobia in some cases. - Fire Madness a constant danger if the user were to remove thier restraints. - These shinobi are very weak against suiton. Most of them cannot swim, either. - As mentioned before, any Okibi who die at the hands of their own flame will be doomed to be food for Kaijin. However, this does not directly effect battle.
I have used this bloodline many times before, with little variation in between. However, if this is too close to the Magma Release one, I will edit it. I have a failsafe second option for just such occasions. Even if I do love this one.

This kekkei genkai looks great to me. Except I do have two objections.
Water is a human necessity-- if it burns their skin how would they be able to preform common tasks such as bathing, drinking, etc, if it damages them? o.O;;
And like I said in PM I sent you earlier, your kekkei genkai's name must be changed.
Otherwise, I don't see any other things that need to be modified-- I can see why you use this frequently, it was thought out nicely. =)

^-^' Yeah, I'll edit that one out. It was kind of stupid anyway. I can't beleive I said that...-sweatdrop-
Edit: There, changed it into something more physically possible. Fear of water seems to me like it would mean a lot of them never took the time to learn how to swim.

Bloodlimit: Kairai Zenrei
Description: This is, of course, restricted to the Kawana clan, a rather small family truthfully, and kept that way perhaps out of necessity. This allows the Kawana clan an ability to better themselves as puppeteers. There are several stages to this, and unlike most bloodlimits that manifest themselves in the eyes, the hands are actually the big giveaway. The fingernails of the members of the Kawana clan have a bluish tint, which, as their abilities and usage of the bloodline limit grow over time, will become more and more pronounced and spread throughout the whole hand. A true master of the family can be recognized by sapphire colored skin on his hand.
It is due to this that most wear gloves unless in combat.
Abilities given to a user of this bloodlimit:
Increased control over their chakra, usually from birth.
Ability to let chakra strings not just control joints… but permeate and become part of the joints, temporarily. This results in increased control over puppets, increased speed and reaction times of the hands and thus the puppet. This is available to the focused trainee by the time they are around eleven.
Puppet’s Sight. The ability to see through their puppet’s eyes to better control the puppet to fight from its own point of view. This too, like the next is available around achievement of graduation to a ninja in most cases.
Five Minute Transfer- This gives the user the ability to, for five minutes, control their puppet via a mind and chakra transfer. This should be a last resort to new users of this technique. It is extremely, EXTREMELY dangerous and will leave the ninja exhausted when he returns to his own body.
As years and training go by the user will be able to sustain connections with their puppets longer than five minutes and without such painful consequences.
History: The clan started out at an unknown time within the last three centuries, but has kept itself rather hidden. Their clan is paid so little recognition that the existence of the limit is usually forgotten until a proper user comes along to join the ranks of the ninja. There have only been two in the history of the clan that have really brought prosperity to the name of the clan, and both worked and lived at the same time, being cousins.
However, from the beginning and development of the Karai Zenrei, it has grown from generation to generation to become what it represents today. The two cousins best known from the clan were instrumental in working together to develop a new ability out of the Karai Zenrei, specifically the ability of the masters of the blood limit to transfer their minds… and a portion of their chakra to their puppets. The time you’re able to spend depends directly on your skill, your body and mind’s discipline and the time you have spent training with your puppets.
As a side effect, you will also be decent at seeing chakra strings your opponents are using and casting your own out quickly.
Drawbacks: As you begin your eleventh year, the best this can do for you is give you a bit of extra strength and control over your puppets, as your chakra can stretch out to permeate every single joint, thus giving you a bit more control than standard Chakra String users of your age group. (You do still use strings, yours just got a little farther than usual ones.) However, this use of your chakra will allow you to tire a little bit quicker. It requires a lot of focus and training in endurance as physical strain is possible.
It is possible at that age to reach the ability to transfer some of your chakra and your mind to the puppet, but there are drawbacks. Your body will be left defenseless and open to attack, and not only that but when you do return to your body you will be hard pressed to stay conscious, much less active, until you become a master. Like any other skill, it takes lots of time to master.
Lots.
Then again, there is also the fact that anyone who has heard of your clan will be able to spot you pretty quickly if you don't cover your hands.

And here I thought I would not be stupid enough to try this again. -_-'
Bloodline Limit: Shugotenshi (is the name I got from my online dictionary. I need help again. T-T)
Clan Name: Hirai
Description: The kekkei genkai of the Hirai clan, while impressive in its effects, is actually far less suited for direct combat than many other clan-specific abilities. The trait itself allows any with the Hirai blood who have awakened to the Shugotenshi to sprout a pair of feathered wings at will from their backs, "folding" back beneath the skin when they are not in use. Obviously, the main ability of the Hirai is their gift of flight, which makes them some of the most useful messengers that any ninja village could ask for. They are able to soar far out of the reach of enemy ninja and their weapons as well as cover much farther distance in a small amount of time when compared to ground-traveling ninja. They are also used for scouts, as many Hirai have extremely acute eyesight whose accuracy is second only to doujutsu users, allowing them to fly above enemy lines and report back to their home village concerning their movements, number of shinobi, and formations. However, there is another ability that exists within the Shugotenshi that if properly used could lead to great potential in combat; this is the ability of a Hirai clansman to control the density, sharpness, size, and other various elements of the feathers on their wings, rather how like a gifted member of the Kaguya clan can preform similar feats with their bones.
Physically, there is only one obvious difference between a member of the Hirai clan and normal shinobi, and that is the large wings they wear when their kekkei genkai is in active use. The color of the feathers, size of the wings, and how these factors are used in combat all vary from one member of the clan to another, and tend to reflect the clansman's personality or tastes. Going deeper than the face value differences, though, there are several other differences between the Hirai and other ninja, one being that they are a great deal lighter. This is because their bones are hollow, which in turn means that they tend to me more on the delicate side when compared to other shinobi. To offset this difficulty, though, they are fairly resilient and can recover from most of their injuries in half the time it would take another ninja (although this pales in comparison to the regenerative powers of Uzumaki Naruto). They are never very "macho" so to speak, but at the same time have very little visible body fat, as flying quickly burns calories. To keep their strength up clansmen are inclined to eat meals far larger than is normal, though not on the same scale as the Akamichi clan of Konoha.
On a final note, while a member of the Hirai clan will undoubtedly have amazing eyesight during the day, they are nearly blind at night and need special night vision goggles if they do not wish to be walking or flying into trees, walls, and other ninja after dark.
History: The Hirai clan are a relatively recent addition to the shinobi world, their entire clan's history stretching back only a few generations. A rather enigmatic clan they seemed to appear one day on the ninja scene when the first recorded member, Hirai Shugo, was found as a tiny child near a battlefield where two groups of shinobi had fought (*Note: later I'll add that he was found by whatever village Kazuhi is sent to, once I've finished her profile and gotten my assignment). The one who found him, one of the victorious ninja that day, took pity on the child and brought him home, naming him Shugo as "there had to be something out there protecting that kid for him to have survived that". He and his wife raised the boy as their own, although it was painfully obvious that he was not their true son, his adoptive parents built powerfully and tall while the boy was almost painfully thin and small. He was also abnormally light, and no matter how much he ate he barely got any heavier. This puzzled his parents, but they refused to treat him differently for it, and in all other matters he had a fairly normal childhood. He entered the ninja academy at the age of six and graduated young at the age of eleven, going on to claim the rank of chuunin by the time he was thirteen. It was during his chuunin exam that he first awakened the sleeping ability within him that would later shape his future as well as those of his descendants.
You see, the "practical" section of that particular exam was a combat trial pitting multiple teams against each other in different terrains to test their teamwork as well as their ability to adapt to different environments. During that exam, Shugo's team was assigned to a cliff side area along with three other teams, forcing them to fight on a small area with a large amount of opponents. During the test, Shugo was almost killed when he was thrown off the cliff by one of the other teams' genin, but in the blind panic one facing certain death that one often feels, he was able to activate his kekkei genkai for the first time in midair. Though shocked, the young genin went along with the sudden development, and was able to come back and defeat the ninja who had thrown him off and several others as well with the help of his teammates, and they were able to clear that portion of the exam.
After that incident, Shugo spent a lot of time trying to work out how he had called out that power, as well as how to properly apply it to his ninja career. His efforts resulted in the Hirai clan techniques seen today, and all of the currently operating Hirai ninja are either his grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
Strengths: + Flight allows for much faster travel, message relay than traveling by foot. + Feathers, when used properly, can be quite useful in combat. + Fine-tuned eyesight and recovery abilities are also quite useful. + Feathers also grow back quickly.
Weaknesses: + Fragile: bones break easily, although they also heal quickly. + Energy consuming: Hirai clansmen with low stamina can only maintain constant flight for so long before they must land to rest. + They eat a lot. Flying burns calories pretty quickly, and they get hungry easily. + Sprouting their wings hurts, although they are apparently able to ignore this. Cannot call their wings while badly hurt. + Although amazingly regenerative, if one were to have their wings pulled off entirely, they would not be able to grow them back without using advanced and possibly forbidden medical ninjutsu.

Kekkei Genkai: Jouki Yaiba (Steam Blades) Clan Name: Tsumura DESCRIPTION This Kekkei Genkai of the Tsumura clan is known as Jouki Yaiba, in other words Steam Blades. This Kekkei Genkai is a mixture of fire, water and the users own Chakra for containing it. This Kekkei Genkai usually come in the form of crescent moons and tends to be very fast. These Steam Blades are a combination of slicing and burning at the same time which results in minimal or no blood shed at all, allowing confusion as to what the cause of death is. The blades are a translucent shade of red, however depending on the jutsu itself; a dark infusion can make them a dark opaque black. There is also a blood red one, this isn’t as powerful as the black one, but is stronger than the translucent ones. Of course some clan members like to make their own trademarks, so they are not always in a crescent moon shape, sometimes with more concentration they are able to make them into star shapes, or any shape they please, the only reason most use the crescent is because they find it more effective in terms of slicing.
History A group of wonderers, three male and three females, always donning black cloaks were thought to be a myth. Those who claim to have saw them always end up dead or insane. No one knew where they had come from, and even till today stories are told of their origins.
Their lives revolving around traveling, and be granted special chakra. It is said that during their travels they came upon a forest where half seemed to be pouring rain. The other half was burning in black flames. As they attempted to enter through the rain part they found that as soon as they stretched their hands into the rain, it burnt the skin as if it were acid. However as they tried to come through the fire, they couldn’t even come near it as it was so hot. The three concentrated their chakra, the first and strongest male and female had chakra of fire. The second male and female which were the smartest had Chakra of water. The third male and female which were the wisest had Chakra of Wind. During their concentration two mythical beasts had appeared, one was Ameonna the rain spirit, the other was Basan the fire breathing chicken (seeing as how Basan is from the mountain in Iyo Province, therefore meaning that the six may have come from those areas). The two clashed, wanting the young forest to grow. Ameonna believed that with her water she could have the forest to be large and strong. Basan believed that with his fire, he could burn the older and withered trees that didn’t allow the younger to grow, and create fertile soil for them. The strongest believed in the Basan, the fire would make fertile soil. The smartest believed in Ameonna for they needed water to create their own food. However the wisest believed in both. They believed that Ameonna would rain on when the plants had run out of water and that Basan burn the trees only when the ground had grown cluttered with dead trees and plants. It was from then they gained the idea of steam. As they watched for months the workings of Ameonna and Basan, they gained the idea. After Basan would burn the forest, Ameonna would water it with her rain. The smoke and steam that rose had inspired the six. They attempted to catch the steam with their bare hands, but it burned them. Then they tried to make their own, those of fire and water would combine their chakra, however the steam was fast and hard to attain, so the wise ones retained the steam with their own Chakra. Basan and Ameonna had watched and wanted to help, so they summoned their powers, not knowing that it could kill them. The three men were attacked and burnt, the skin withered and old as if the body had been skinned. The women had known ninjutsu and as they healed the men there was something different, a new Chakra to them, and that’s how the Kekkei Genkai was born. When the men opened their eyes the fear that struck them was almost unbearable for the whites of their eyes had gone black, and their irises were glowing blue, red and green. Year later all three had eventually married and bore children. Surprised that this had also been passed down to their children, they eventually come to name this Jouki Yaiba, and that was the birth of the Tsumura clan.
ADVANTAGES
Usually fast and can’t be dodged unless a shinobi is fully prepared for it. The attacks burn and slash at the same time, resulting in minimal or no blood shed at all. This makes it harder for the enemy to identify the killer as it could be a kunai wound that was burnt with a fire jutsu. Can travel great distance and cut though almost anything including trees, and some rocks, depends on the types of course.
FLAWS One of the many flaws as any Kekkei Genkai has is the chakra. The difference between this one and another is first you have to use chakra to create steam, and then use an extra amount to retain it. Although this is not the only reason for major chakra loss, shinobi for the Tsumura clan would calculate the amount of Chakra used when continuously using a certain jutsu of this Kekkei Genkai, usually they find out they used much more than calculated, this is because when the chakra is used, some is wasted as heat, however none know about this as anyone could use this as an advantage in a battle.
Another flaw is that a shinobi finds that they are also harming themselves. Despite the chakra used to retain it, steam still manages to slowly escape, so this may result in burning yourself, the severity depends on the shinobi’s control over the chakra retaining the steam. This however is compensated by the speed of the blade as a shinobi quickly attacks a person without lingering or hesitation.
The shinobi of the Tsumura tribe always have at least one person tattooed with the secrets on his or her back, at the death of this person, the body is usually mutilated and then burnt so that no one can find it. Of course there is a seal while the person is living so if you were to look at the persons back you would see nothing but clear skin, however once a person dies the secrets are revealed. PHYSICAL EFFECT There is only one physical change, but it is quite obvious, as all Tsumura’s are born with either scarlet red, bright blue, or vivid green eyes. The whites turn pitch black and the irises glow when they are readying their chakra, resulting in a demonic look that is usually frightening and unsettling. The whites turn black as the concentration of chakra takes a toll on the eyes, resulting in the whites turning black this doesn’t affect the shinobi’s vision, but after the shinobi is done with using this jutsu they find themselves stuck with a strong headache. However the stronger the Shinobi, the less likely they are to get a headache.
(I’m willing to make changes if it sounds in appropriate or redundant ^_^)

I find this appropriate and realistic enough, so it is approved.

Name: The Seibutsu
Description: This kekkei genkai is incredibly rare, and because of its history and the superstition of the people surrounding, its line has been scattered to the winds. It follows, of course, that any and all research that has been done on it has followed its masters into near oblivion. It has had its users mistaken for demons and the like, and therefore the wielders of this particular power are cut down before much can be done.
The Seibutsu usually only comes out in a person under conditions of extreme stress, i.e. a life-threatening situation, or emotional pain. It can be brought out at will, but only with much training and discipline in order to control it properly. The general idea is fairly straightforward. During one of these periods, whether brought on at will or what have you, the user transforms into what resembles, for lack of a better word, a monster.
The user grows fangs, canines more than twice their normal length, and leathery batlike wings. Their eyes disappear into complete blackness, no whites, pupils, or anything. Those few who have seen this technique used and lived say that they look nearly inhuman during this period, and their speed and strength increase significantly. This form, unfortunately, eats up the users' Chakra and indeed life force at a rapid rate and most are unable to use it for prolonged periods without vigorous training.
Pros: Increased strength Increased speed Lack of care for pain and/or injuries Intimidating form
Cons: Users' lifespans shortened by use without training Lack of care for pain and/or injuries Constant pain for their entire lives Loss of humanity(metaphorically) after repeated use
History:(If this sounds like a fairy tale I'm sorry) The few of the true Benzaiten line that are left treasure a myth of their family of how they gained their powerful Kekkei Genkai, and the terrible price that they paid for it. The true Benzaiten always have been ones to laugh at themselves, but unfortunately the line is much tainted by now.
The ultimate grandfather of the Benzaiten line, the tale always begins, was called simply that. He was strongest and bravest man for miles around. Unfortunately, someone always chuckles, he was also excessively vain. Benzaiten was the strongest and the bravest, and he made sure everyone around knew just that. He crowed about his power to everyone, and when the time came for him to pick a wife he chose the most beautiful in the land.
Now this woman had neither name nor family, but lived alone on the edge of the forest, only seen by few who dared go near her hut. Benzaiten, brash as he was, did not heed warnings that she was a witch or a demon and went to claim her. "Woman!" he roared outside her door, "I would have you to wife!" The young lady opened the door mildly. "What claim have you?" she challenged him.
Now it had never entered Benzaiten's mind that the woman would refuse him, and for a moment he was baffled by this response. True to form, however, he drove on. "I am brave!" he said, "And strong!" She looked him once over. "This is true," she said, still mild and calm, "You are strong. But are you strong enough? Brave enough?" "Of course!" Benzaiten said unthinkingly.
The woman smiled evilly, displaying far more teeth than any normal human should have. "Then you shall have your wish and more, but at a price. Tell me man, are you strong enough for THIS?!"
There was a flash of demonic, evil light, and Benzaiten was a creature, a creature never seen before on this earth. "What have you done to me woman?!" he roared in his new voice. "I am Koumori," the woman said, now in a shape much like his own, "And you are to be my consort."
By myth, all Benzaitens are descended from those two and are thought by the gullible to be half demon. The Benzaitens themselves have lost the true origin of their power to the mists of time, and therefore rely on this to explain to those who wish to know.
(Fading creepy music. Lord this is mildly stupid.)

Fantasy-ish, as expected from you. xDD
Approved, though. I see no issues.
